US ministers is going to visit Japan under Biden to focus on China's concerns
Following Donald Trump's temperamental approach, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin are traveling to Tokyo to meet with their counterparts and other senior officials to reaffirm the US commitment to the region and their alliance.
When the two ministers in President Biden's administration visit Japan for the first private talks with their Japanese counterparts, the main focus is expected to be on concerns about China's growing influence in the region.
On Tuesday, the two secretaries will hold talks with their Japanese counterparts Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Defense Minister Nabuo Kishi on so-called "two plus two" diplomacy and security.
