Biden president signs executive orders on immigration as Trump impeachment lawyer blasts trial



President Joe Biden is set to sign a series of immigration executive orders today which will include reuniting families at the US-Mexico border.

Mr Biden was originally getting to kickstart the changes, that include a review of Donald Trump’s immigration policies, on Friday but decided to delay until his nominee for Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was confirmed.

In a briefing on Monday, the White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the administration is hopeful that Mayorkas will be in place today and said that Mr Biden has “every intention of moving with the immigration executive actions.”

Meanwhile Mr Trump’s impeachment lawyer David Schoen said the former president had “nothing” to do with the Capitol riots and that his trial was “unconstitutional.”
